Neurodiversity in tech: how to build, mentor and motivate every mind
Byte Size (BEGINNER level)

Tech communities thrive when every contributor can participate fully and safely. Neurodivergent contributors bring unique strengths such as pattern recognition, hyperfocus, creativity, and non linear problem solving but they often face invisible barriers that limit access, growth, and retention.

This talk explores neuro inclusion as a shared responsibility between employers, leaders and individual contributors. Through real world scenarios, we will examine practical best practices for building neuro inclusive environments across onboarding, communication, mentorship, performance expectations and leadership.

For employers and managers, the session offers guidance on designing processes, feedback loops and cultures that reduce friction while enabling diverse thinking to thrive. For employees and contributors, it provides strategies for self advocacy, collaboration, and supporting neurodivergent peers in day to day work and community spaces.

Attendees will take away lessons to apply across teams, open source projects, and meetups, fostering environments where diverse cognitive styles are valued and everyone can contribute meaningfully.
