I am an active member of the London Java Community (LJC), and I'm often asked "What are we doing in the LJC?” But perhaps this is the wrong question. I believe the right questions should be "What do I want my local community to be?” and “What do I want to get from my local community?”
Community is not a one way street where members can soak up all the information and activities offered without offering anything in return. Members need to provide ideas, support and effort if communities are to thrive.
So come along and hear why and how I support my local community, and maybe you’ll be inspired to do the same for yours.
